Prognosis

Generally excellent. Grade I tumors have 80-90% 10-year survival. Higher grade tumors have poorer prognosis. Many slow-growing tumors observed without treatment.

  • Early detection through imaging

Research Status

Surgery is primary treatment when accessible. Radiation therapy for residual or inoperable tumors. Newer targeted therapies and immunotherapy being studied. Most have excellent prognosis.
